15th July 2013

Today the sanding of the plaster was done. There seemed to be a few spots that hadn't been sanded so I would say the sanders will be back again tomorrow.

All the downpipes are now in. They were installed yesterday. These will eventually be painted in Taubmans 'Tombstone'. The plumbing for the water tank also seems to have been completed.

We had Carpet Call come out today to measure for our carpet and floorboards. Samples were brought out of the colours we have chosen, but I don't think the carpet colour is going to work. I am going insane trying to pick floor colours. I have found this to be the hardest decision so far. We are going to go back to the store tomorrow and check out some different colours.

We recieved a phone call from Peter our SS today wanting to know if we were going to do our skirting boards ourselves or if we wanted MJH to do them. We decided we would do them ourselves seeing as our floors will be laid after handover. The last thing we want to have happen is have them installed and then we have to try and take them all off again to have the floors laid. Its a bit of a pain, but we prefer the floorboards butt up to the skirting boards, rather than have the floorboards butt up to to beading in front of the skirting boards. Hate that look. Its so ugly. Peter also mentioned that we are way ahead of schedule which is awesome. He informed me today that painting is scheduled to start 2 weeks from today. He will also be able to give us a handover date once the painting has started which is exciting. Fingers crossed it will be mid August to late August.

Some pictures of the sanding that was done today and the downpipes below.
