    Hi I love all your selections, we are at the initial stages of heading to contract for a Milano 2, ours is a knock down rebuild. Can you tell me if any of your selections for your kitchen were an upgrade?       Hi Deb we are looking at Knockdown rebuild as well, we are hopefully going to build the milano 4. I too am having the odd panic attack. Are you blogging about your journey? I would love to see your progress

    Thanks Debbie. At first we chose several upgrades for the kitchen, but when we saw the final cost of upgrades, we nearly died. As we are on a strict budget, we had to cut a lot of the extras out, so in the end we went with silk finish overhead cupboards, which is the next up from the standard which look really nice. They ended up being an extra $500. And we upgraded from 20mm benchtops to 40mm benchtops, which was an extra $1,680. Everything else is standard. You can quite easily spend an extra $10k alone in the kitchen. Our total upgrade cost was $6,850. Originally, it was about $12-15k. Good luck with everything.     Thanks for such a detailed list of selections Renai, you have put an awful lot of work in to this which is greatly appreciated. My wife and I received our selections folder before Christmas and were overwhelmed, due to have colour selections in mid February at Oak Flats. Keep us updated with your build. Good luck!

    Hi, your selections are great, hope the build starts soon. can you tell me how much MDJ charged for the floorboards? we are looking at similar flooring to you but not sure if its better to have it done after handover?

      Thanks Terrie. Hopefully we will be starting in a few weeks. I couldnt tell you how much they charge as we are getting our flooring through Carpet Court. We are getting it installed by Carpet Court during the build and have organised for Carpet Court to lay the floor, then put the skirting boards on for us.

      Hi Terrie, we got the Gerflor creation clic floorboards (Wild oak) for the entry, hallway, dining, family, study and kids activity room and it cost $11400, we are building the Milano 2 elite. Carpet was an extra $7000 for the bedrooms. I wanted timber floorboards originally but we live in a particularly cold area and the Gerflor has a better insulation rating, much more hard wearing and easier to replace a damaged board if ever required. Originally designed for commercial use so it's tough (I have two little girls and a wife who likes to wear killer heels!). Comes in quite a few colours, great product. It is in one of the homes at Horsley (West Dapto) if you want to see it in a home.

    Was Essastone offered as an inclusion in the package? We have been given the colours folder and it only has Ceasarstone mentioned? Paul
