To give you an idea of where things are at, we recieved Developer Approval
just prior to Xmas and our plans are now sitting with CDC (private certifier).
Apparently CDC takes approximately 10 working days for approval, but due to the
Xmas break, we were told that we should hear back in 4 weeks time. I am
assuming we will hear something in the last week of January.
We have our Electrical Appointment booked in for 18th January, which I am a
little nervous about, as I have heard that electrical is very pricey. If anyone
can give me some advice that would be great. Something we are wanting to know
about is whether power points and light switches have to be installed by MJH or
whether we can just get pre-wiring done and do it ourselves after handover. And
if MJH have to install them, whether we can provide them with our own power
points and switches as it works out so much cheaper. It would be even better if
we could do everything ourselves as I have a family member who is an
Electrician.
If anyone can recommend some tradies for things like driveways, fencing that
would be great.
We are becoming super excited as this has been such a timely process,
considering we put down our first deposit back in 2011. We are desperate to
move into our own home as we have been living with my parents for the past 2
years in one room and it is doing our head in. Our 3 boys are going mental!
Hopefully I'll have some good news to share over the next few weeks.
Until next time...
