14th May 2013

Today I had the pleasure of meeting up with James our Site Supervisor at 1pm for our first major inspection, being the piering. James walked me around the site showing me where the piers were on the plans and where they had been cut on the site and whilst this was happening, one of the construction workers was measuring the depth of the piers. The framework for the slab had also been laid and waffle pods had been delivered.

Total lineal meterage of the piers came to 29.1, which we are absolutely thrilled about as our contract allowance was 89 lineal metres. This means we are 59.9 metres under our allowance, which means a nice credit will be coming our way. James informed me that all holes would be filled today and that the sand would be put down for the salinity. He also told me that our slab would be laid this Saturday and frames would be delivered next Friday, which is so exciting.

I ended up going back to the block about 3:30pm to find that all holes had been filled and the sand had been put down just as James specified. Hopefully the sun will stay out for the next few days so there are no issues with the slab going down.
